WASHINGTON, DC – First Lady Melania Trump has launched the 2027 Presidential Super Intelligence Challenge and announced a new First Lady Seal of SI Readiness, opening the nationwide initiative to K-12 students, educators and schools across the United States.

According to a White House press release , the program builds on an inaugural challenge that attracted more than 20,000 students from all 50 states as well as U.S. schools around the world.

“America’s next groundbreaking idea is already sitting in a classroom,” the First Lady said, adding that students need access to the knowledge, tools and opportunities required to turn new ideas into reality.

The 2027 challenge will encourage students to use super intelligence, or SI, to develop projects and solutions addressing real-world problems in their schools, communities and beyond.

Melania Trump said the initiative is also intended to prepare the next generation for emerging technologies that could play an increasingly important role in U.S. economic competitiveness, national security and global leadership.

A new component of the 2027 program will allow participating schools to qualify for the First Lady Seal of SI Readiness.

Schools seeking the designation will be required to complete and document a set of milestones demonstrating efforts to prepare students and educators to understand, use and responsibly engage with super intelligence technology, according to the White House.

The Presidential SI Challenge will continue to operate as a project-based competition, with students developing SI-related projects while educators can participate through approaches focused on teaching and using the technology in K-12 education.

Entire schools can also participate by completing readiness milestones designed to demonstrate broader institutional preparation for SI-related learning and technology.

Registration for the 2027 Presidential SI Challenge is open through December 18, 2026, according to the program’s official website.
