Netflix has renewed The Hunting Wives for a third season, with the announcement arriving ahead of the drama’s Season 2 debut on Nov. 26.

Produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts, the series was initially developed for Starz before being acquired by Netflix ahead of its Season 1 premiere in 2025. It will continue as a Netflix original moving forward.

The series stars Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman and is based on May Cobb’s novel of the same name. However, Season 2 will move beyond the events covered in the book.

Season 1 centered on Sophie O’Neil (Snow), who moves with her family from the East Coast to deep East Texas. There, she becomes drawn to socialite Margo (Åkerman), whose irresistible appeal pulls Sophie into a world of obsession, seduction and murder.

The second season finds Sophie and Margo at odds, but their past secrets and emerging enemies eventually bring them back together. As they continue their dangerous games, they must confront the question of whether they are the hunters or the hunted.

The cast also features Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Jonigkeit, George Ferrier, Karen Rodriguez, Hunter Emery, Branton Box, Dale Dickey, Kim Matula, Cam Gigandet, Alex FitzAlan, John Stamos and Angel Reese.

Rebecca Cutter created The Hunting Wives and serves as its showrunner. Cutter, Cobb and 3 Arts’ Erwin Stoff are executive producers, with Lionsgate serving as the studio.

“I’m so stoked to be heading back to Maple Brook, and I promise that once you’ve finished Season 2, you’ll be desperate to see what happens next,” Cutter said in a statement. “Buckle up, because Season 3 will be even more scandalous and twisted.”
