LUNENBURG — Adults looking to build strength, improve balance and stay active are invited to participate in “Strong Women Stay Young,” a four-week fitness series beginning Thursday, Oct. 8, at 4 p.m. at the Lunenburg Public Library, 1023 Massachusetts Ave.
Led by certified instructor Niki Holtzman, the beginner-friendly program will meet Thursdays through Oct. 29 and is based on a scientifically proven strength-training method that forms the foundation of the popular “Bone Builders” program.
Designed to help adults maintain independence and vitality, “Strong Women Stay Young” focuses on exercises that can help improve balance, energy and core strength while helping to maintain bone health.
Participants should bring two hand weights, weighing 2 to 4 pounds each, and one ankle weight, weighing 2 to 5 pounds. Attendees will also receive a take-home exercise routine to practice once a week.
Registration is required. For more information, or to register, visit the library’s calendar at lunenburgpubliclibrary.org.
