Los Angeles — Sony has set 2027 theatrical release dates for the comedy sequel “24 Jump Street” and Ridley Scott’s “Treasure Island” remake starring Hugh Jackman. “Treasure Island” will arrive first on Nov. 11, 2027, with “24 Jump Street” following on Dec. 10, 2027.
“24 Jump Street” was revealed in June as being in development, with Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube in talks to return for the franchise’s third movie. Rodney Rothman, known for “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” is directing and co-wrote the screenplay with Hill and Meghan Malloy.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed 2012’s “21 Jump Street” and 2014’s “22 Jump Street,” are returning as producers. Neal H. Moritz, Tatum and Reid Carolin are also producing through Free Association, while Hill and Matt Dines are producing under Hill’s Strong Baby banner.
Also in June, Jackman and Scott were announced as collaborators on a big-screen adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure story “Treasure Island.” Scott will direct the film from a screenplay by Emmy-winning “Adolescence” writer Jack Thorne. Scott is also producing alongside Michael Pruss through Scott Free, with Thorne serving as an executive producer.
Sony has also assigned release dates to Roshan Sethi’s thriller “The Surgeon” and the coming-of-age comedy “Narcs.” “The Surgeon” is scheduled for April 2, 2027, while “Narcs” will open Aug. 20, 2027.
Michelle Yeoh stars in “The Surgeon” as a skilled doctor who is kidnapped and forced to perform surgery on a mysterious patient. “Narcs” features Mason Thames, while details about the story remain under wraps. John Phillips, the writer behind “No Hard Feelings” and “Dirty Grandpa,” is making his directorial debut with the film.
The studio also moved the release dates for two other projects. “Grandgear,” directed by “Godzilla Minus One” filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki, was originally scheduled for Feb. 18, 2028, but will now be released Jan. 14, 2028.
Meanwhile, “Helldivers,” based on the popular video game franchise, had been scheduled for Nov. 10, 2027. Sony has pushed its release to June 9, 2028.
