GJW+'s First Original Animated Series "MONKEY KING ADVENTURES" Will Premiere Worldwide Only on GJW+ on October 2
The popular independent video streaming and content sharing platform Gan Jing World (GJW) announced that its first original animated series, Monkey King Adventures, will premiere on October 2 on its streaming platform GJW+ and on Gan Jing Kids – its children’s platform offering child-friendly content without addictive algorithms.
Middletown, NY – The popular independent video streaming and content sharing platform Gan Jing World (GJW) announced that its first original animated series, Monkey King Adventures, will premiere on October 2 on its streaming platform GJW+ and on Gan Jing Kids – its children’s platform offering child-friendly content without addictive algorithms.
Monkey King Adventures is a multi-season fantasy-adventure animated series based on the traditional Chinese classic Journey to the West, featuring hundreds of characters and countless adventures. First published in the 16th century, Journey to the West draws inspiration from a pilgrimage that took place more than 1,300 years ago and has been well known to adults and children across Asia for centuries.
The first season, Monkey King Adventures: The Rise of the King, follows the journey of Sun Wukong, a young monkey born from a magical stone as he rises to become the fearless Monkey King. Along the way, he gains extraordinary powers, battles demons, dragons, and gods, discovers his strength, and learns from his mistakes.
More than just another adaptation, this animated series stays true to the original story and spirit of Journey to the West while reimagining its epic journey as a fun, magical adventure that children from all cultural backgrounds can understand, learn from, love, and share.

Season one, Monkey King Adventures: The Rise of the King, will consist of twelve 10-minute episodes, with the first two available for free. The remaining episodes will be available to watch with a GJW+ Subscription, which includes full access to Gan Jing Kids. The season premieres on October 2 exclusively on GJW+ streaming platform, with a new episode released each week thereafter.
