It’s official. Layne Riggs will remain with Front Row Motorsports through the 2027 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season after the organization announced Monday that it plans to keep him in the No. 34 Ford for the 2027 season. The announcement comes at an important point in Riggs’ 2026 campaign, with the driver entering the Truck Series playoffs as the No. 1 seed after posting one of the strongest seasons of his career.

Riggs has already made his way to Victory Lane six times so far this season, with four poles, 10 top-five finishes, and 11 top-10s through the first 18 races. He has also led 598 laps, showing just how much of an edge the No. 34 has put on the rest of the field this year. His average finish sits at 9.72, and that consistency has helped Riggs build a 25-point advantage heading into the seven-race Chase.

The Team EJP 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was another major win for Riggs, as he led 106 laps on his way to his sixth win of the season. That victory gave him the top seed entering the playoffs and added another strong result to a season that has already seen him establish himself as one of the Truck Series’ leading drivers. Yet the championship is still the biggest piece of business left on the table.

However, with his 2027 plans confirmed, Riggs can enter the postseason without worrying about where he will be racing next year. Front Row Motorsports has been pivotal to his development in the Truck Series, and another season in the No. 34 gives both team and driver time to build on what they have already achieved. Riggs has 11 career Truck Series wins, with six of those coming during his current stint with FRM.

Riggs has also mentioned his desire to compete in the Cup Series and is aiming to make his Cup debut by the end of 2027. Select Cup races could become part of his schedule next season, although no specific plans have been announced. For now, his attention remains on the Truck Series and the championship opportunity that comes with being the No. 1 seed.

Even so, the timing of the contract extension news gives Riggs another reason to feel solid about where his career is heading. He has continued to improve with Front Row, and this season’s results have shown what the No. 34 team can accomplish when teamwork drives the effort. Now, with another Truck Series season already secured, Riggs can focus on finishing out 2026 the same way he started it at the front of the field.

The next seven races will decide whether the season ends with a championship or he walks away empty-handed, but Riggs has already put himself in position to come out on top. Six wins, 598 laps led, and a No. 1 seed have put the No. 34 in great odds. Now the focus shifts to the Chase, while his 2027 future with Front Row Motorsports is already set.
