LOS ANGELES — Asa Germann, who has appeared in “Gen V” and “Scream 7,” is reportedly in final negotiations to play Angel in Marvel Studios’ upcoming “X-Men” film.
TheWrap reports that Jake Schreier, director of “Thunderbolts*,” is attached to helm the movie. Lee Sung Jin, the creator of “Beef,” and writer Joanna Calo are developing a new version of the screenplay.
The Angel character has previously been played by Ben Foster in 2006’s “X-Men: The Last Stand” and by Ben Hardy in 2016’s “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
If Germann completes his deal, he will become part of an expanding cast that already includes Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister.
Marvel Studios has not commented on the reported casting of Germann.
