Keelung is a port city in northern Taiwan whose history has been shaped by generations of immigrants, particularly those from Zhangzhou and Quanzhou in Fujian Province, Southern China. Every year during the seventh lunar month, the city comes alive with lanterns, traditional performances, marching bands, and elaborate processions for the Keelung Ghost Festival, also known as the Keelung Mid-Autumn Festival. Established in 1855, the festival celebrated its 172nd year in 2026, with the Liu-Tang-Du Clan Association serving as the rotating main organizer.
