Tea Party Patriots Action is restarting its nationwide election-integrity training program for the 2026 midterms, planning events across key battleground states after training more than 35,000 poll watchers and poll workers during the previous two election cycles.

Tea Party Patriots Action is launching a new round of poll watcher and poll worker training ahead of November’s midterm elections, expanding an election-integrity effort that the conservative grassroots organization says prepared more than 35,000 volunteers during the 2022 and 2024 cycles.

The 2026 program began with an in-person training session Aug. 28 in Georgia, organized in partnership with the Honest Elections Project. A second event is scheduled for Sept. 11 in Nevada, with additional sessions planned during the following two months in several states expected to play major roles in determining control of Congress.

Jenny Beth Martin, chair of Tea Party Patriots Action, said the training program reflects sustained interest among conservative activists in election administration and oversight.

Election integrity is “consistently one of the top issues for grassroots conservatives,” Martin said in a statement, according to Breitbart.

“This is why Tea Party Patriots Action recruited and trained over 35,000 poll watchers and poll workers during the 2022 and 2024 election cycles, and we are continuing this initiative for the 2026 cycle.”

The organization plans to hold training events in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada.

Those states are expected to contain some of the most competitive congressional contests of the midterm cycle and could prove decisive in determining which party controls the House and Senate.

Poll watchers and poll workers perform different functions within the election process.

Poll workers generally help administer voting sites under state and local election rules, while poll watchers observe aspects of the process on behalf of political parties, candidates or other authorized organizations, depending on applicable state law.

Tea Party Patriots Action is incorporating the training initiative into what Martin described as a broader “multifront campaign for election integrity.”

That effort also includes lobbying Congress to pass the SAVE America Act, legislation intended to establish new federal requirements involving proof of citizenship and voter identification.

The House approved the SAVE America Act in February, but the measure has stalled in the Senate.

Under current Senate rules, supporters would need 60 votes to overcome a filibuster and advance the legislation.

The proposal would require people registering to vote to provide documentary evidence of U.S. citizenship.

It would also establish a photo identification requirement for voting.

The legislation specifies a relatively limited range of documents that could satisfy the citizenship requirement, including a U.S. passport and military identification when accompanied by a birth record.

Its voter identification provisions would be stricter than standards currently enforced by any individual state.

Congress is also considering a narrower approach to citizenship verification through the budget reconciliation process.

Rather than imposing the same direct federal requirement envisioned in the SAVE America Act, that proposal would use financial incentives to encourage states to adopt citizenship-verification measures.

The difference is significant because reconciliation legislation can move through the Senate under different procedural rules than ordinary legislation and generally does not face the same 60-vote threshold required to defeat a filibuster.

Tea Party Patriots Action is continuing its volunteer program while those legislative efforts remain unresolved.

“With the SAVE America Act still languishing in the Senate, it will be up to patriotic citizens to lead the way on election integrity once again during this cycle,” Martin said.

The organization’s strategy combines congressional advocacy with direct participation in election administration and observation.

Its training schedule places particular emphasis on states where narrow margins could decide congressional races, reflecting the importance both parties are placing on election operations ahead of November.

The renewed effort follows the more than 35,000 volunteers Tea Party Patriots Action says it trained over the previous two federal election cycles.

With the House-passed SAVE America Act awaiting action in the Senate and control of Congress expected to be closely contested, the group is now seeking to build that network further before voters head to the polls in the 2026 midterms.
