The Clemson Tigers did not have a strong 2025 college football season. They finished with a 7-6 overall record and 4-4 in ACC Conference play. Clemson lost to the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Pinstripe Bowl last season. Well, the Tigers are looking to get themselves back into the college football playoffs this season under head coach Dabo Swinney.

Well, Clemson named Christopher Vizzina as the starting quarterback for the season. They are preparing to face the LSU Tigers this weekend. Vizzina last season with Clemson completed 63.4% of his passes for 406 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He also rushed for 41 yards on 25 carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 1.6 yards per carry. Vizzina is 6’4″ and weighs 210 lbs.

The senior is in his 4th season with Clemson and was a backup the previous 3 years.
He’s appeared in 14 games, mostly in mop up duty.

It will be interesting to see if he is going to be the starting quarterback for the whole season for Clemson. With that being said, if Vizzina is not the starter the whole season, then true freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds would take over. Vizzina has been the backup quarterback for the Tigers for the last three seasons. Cade Klubnik has started over that time span here.
