The New York Yankees have a 66-52 record this season. They are the first wild card in the American League. New York has been without outfielder Aaron Judge since May 31st against the Athletics on the road. The Yankees are hoping he can return at some point this season. He is 34 years old and it has been taking him longer to heal his injuries.

Judge in 59 games this season has a .248 batting average with 17 home runs and 38 RBIs, along with five stolen bases and three caught stolen bases. His on-base percentage is .375. With it being Monday, August 10th, it will be interesting to see when Judge will go a rehab assignment in the minor leagues and return to the Yankees.

Alden Gonzales of espn.com wrote about when Judge could potentially return to the Yankees this season. He said,
“Judge was asked recently if he would be back this season, and he sounded almost surprised by the question. “I don’t know why I wouldn’t be,” he said. Any doubt, though, has been justified. Judge has been out since May 31 because of a stress fracture in a right rib and only recently got cleared for what Yankees manager Aaron Boone described as “light activity.” It’s the 10th day of August. Judge spent more than a month playing through pain in that rib until it simply became unbearable. And though it’s safe to say Judge will find a way to return this season, it’s also fair to wonder how healed he’ll be.”
It would feel like a shock if Judge did not return at all for the Yankees this season. They have one of the best starting rotations in the MLB. New York does need Judge in the lineup in October because it will give them another top tier bat in the lineup.
