‘This Kids Body of Work’: Former Arizona Cardinals GM Steve Keim Makes Comments About QB Carson Beck

There are a lot of people who believe that the Arizona Cardinals are going to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Quarterback Carson Beck was a third-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft from the Miami Hurricanes. Beck got the start for Arizona in the Hall of Game on Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers in Canton, Ohio.

Well, Beck completed 15-of-19 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown, in Carolina’s 33-30 win over Arizona. Even though he faced a lot of players who may not make a roster, Beck looked like he belongs in the NFL. The 23-year-old is ready to make a name for himself in this league already. There is a good chance that he is going to be starting games for Arizona this season. Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew II will also be the other quarterbacks on the roster. Some think that the Cardinals should not start Brissett or Minshew this season. The Cardinals will face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 on the road. Mike LaFleur is the new head coach.

Former Cardinals general manager Steve Keim made some comments about Beck’s performance against the Panthers on Thursday night. He said,

“We can win 3 games with or without Jacoby, but seeing this kids body of work will pay huge dividends towards the future and that’s where we are at as an organization. Go Cards!”

This is interesting that Keim made these comments about Beck after one preseason game. The next preseason game for the Cardinals will be on Thursday, August 13th against the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. If Beck plays well for the second straight game, there is a world where a quarterback controversy sets to emerge. The next preseason games for Carolina will be against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, August 15th on the road.
