The Cincinnati Bengals finished with a 6-11 record last season in the NFL. They are on the verge of having things go south in a hurry if they get off to a slow start. Cincinnati has missed the playoffs for the last three seasons. There is a ton of pressure on head coach Zac Taylor to get wins out of the gate. They will begin the season at home in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There is also pressure on quarterback Joe Burrow to stay healthy all season long. Even with his injuries last season, the defense was a bigger problem in his absence. In eight games played for Cincinnati last season, Burrow completed 66.8% of his passes for 1,809 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also rushed for 41 yards on 14 carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 2.9 yards per carry. Burrow is 29 years old. He has been to two AFC Championship Games in his career and also has been to a Super Bowl as well. Since those two years of success, they have not been a playoff team since.

Mike Sando of the Athletic and others ranked their tiers of quarterbacks as the 2026 NFL season approaches. Burrow is in the first tier of quarterbacks and he is ranked fourth overall. One NFL Offensive Coach said about him as the 2026 NFL season approaches,
“He’s so talented at throwing the ball, and he sees it so well.”
Burrow is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. He could be in the MVP race this season for the Bengals if he stays healthy and they are also in the playoff field. Cincinnati has one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL this season with Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase. Andy Iosivas is going to be the third wide receiver and Colbie Young will be in the mix as well.
Mike Geisicki and Drew Sample will be the tight ends and Chase Brown and Samaje Perine will be the running backs. Hopefully, Orlando Brown Jr., Ted Karras, and the rest of the offensive line will hold up. Burrow is under the microscope no doubt this season also.
