The Baltimore Orioles made a stunning blockbuster move with the Boston Red Sox on Monday at the MLB trade deadline. Baltimore traded away catchers Jake Rogers and Adley Rutschman, and also cash considerations to Boston for prospects outfielder Enddy Azocar, right-handed pitcher Anthony Eyanson, right-handed pitcher Kyson Witherspoon, a player to be named later or cash considerations, and catcher Carlos Narvaez. This is a crazy trade that Boston made.

They gave up their number two, four, and five prospects in the farm system. Baltimore got two key pitchers in the farm system now. Boston is going for it all this season. The Orioles have a 54-58 record this season and the Red Sox have a 60-51 record. There are many people who think that Rutschman is damaged goods and general manager Mike Elias did a good job here. However, he was the first overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft and it appears as if the Orioles regime has failed.

There are a lot of Orioles fans who want Elias fired after making the Rutschman trade. This is what some fans had to say about the trade on Twitter:
All we care about is Mike Elias getting fired. Until that happens we literally do not care.

10 years down the line this’ll be talked about as one of the greatest trades in team history. Fans might not like it now but this is how you trade a guy who’s going to leave.

The Orioles should fire Elias once the season ends. Baltimore is on the verge of missing the playoffs for the last two seasons. His rebuild has failed big time.
