The State Fair is just around the corner, bringing over a week’s worth of wholesome entertainment to New Jersey. A modest admission grants you access to educational exhibits, musical events, animal shows, exciting rides and yummy food, and more, all in beautiful Sussex County.  

The NJ State Fair has its humble origins in a local horse show nearly 100 years ago. After the agricultural and equestrian communities joined forces in 1940, the fair grew in size and content. 2026 marks the 50th anniversary since the fair settled in its present location in Augusta, New Jersey. 

Keeping its strong ties to agriculture, the fair is held in conjunction with the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show, and hosts an engaging livestock competition through the 4H club. An impressive array of food vendors, special events and carnival entertainment ensure that everyone enjoys the experience.

The fair opens on Friday, July 31, running for eight days (rain or shine!) with the following schedule:

The fair is located at 37 Plains Road, Augusta, NJ, with free parking and wheelchair access. 

The NJ State Fair also offers clean and comfortable restrooms (with baby changing stations), scooter rental, first aid, and lost and found services. 

The fairgrounds is a smoke-free and pet-free environment.

NJ State Fair Admission 

Admission prices vary by purchase method. Cash prices advertised below. Card and online ticket prices include applicable ticketing and processing fees.

Advance Admission (Save 20%! Ends July 30 at 5 PM)

Regular Admission (Starting July 31st at 5 PM) available online or at the gate:

Rides are open noon-10 PM on weekdays, 10 AM-10 PM on weekends. 

Carnival Mega Pass (Online only, through July 30) includes 1-day admission and unlimited rides.
