While writing an article in the Yu Menglong Music Inspiration series, Ariel came across Yu's experience of being subjected to brutal torture for protecting his chastity, and she began noticing many strange things. 

She found that she understood, with unusual precision, both the mindset of the perpetrators and the state Yu was in as he was being violated — which is why her writing about what Yu suffered came out so exact and effortless.

This left her secretly frightened: what kind of twisted experience could she possibly have had in a past life, to understand these perpetrators so well?

What's more, she couldn't even look at the words "guarding one's chastity" — the moment she saw them, it was like being hit by an electric shock, and she couldn't calm herself down.

In fact, ever since she was a child, she has never been able to bear seeing a beautiful person die or be abused — even seeing it would churn her stomach.

As it turned out, in writing the Yu Menglong Music Inspiration series of articles, all of these factors compounded on top of each other, until finally she simply couldn't continue editing.

So she went to the team to talk it through, to see if everyone could help her get past it.

What Yu En and Yu then told Ariel left her stunned:

The reason Ariel understood so well what Yu had suffered was that she herself, like Yu, had gone through a horrifying experience of sexual assault in a past reincarnation.

In that lifetime, she was gang-raped to death while trying to protect her younger sister, and before she died, she watched with her own eyes as her beloved sister — who was also very beautiful — was collectively assaulted by the same men who had violated her.

Because of this, Ariel has never since been able to bear seeing a beautiful person die or be abused — it is the traumatic memory of that past life.

Afterward, she reincarnated seeking revenge, and it was only because she was stopped in time that she avoided committing an even greater karmic offense of killing.

As for why Ariel couldn't look at the words "guarding one's chastity," Yu En told her that once the story was written, she would understand.

Yu said that Ariel needs to learn to forgive and heal herself.

That weekend, Yu and Yu En worked continuously on writing that reincarnation story, in order to heal Ariel.

That reincarnation story is "Yu's Reincarnation Stories: Redemption Amid Hatred."

Anne, the character in the story, is one of Yu's Secondary Souls, Li Fu ("Sunshine Brother").

To keep Matthew from falling into a demonic path out of hatred, Anne died guarding her chastity in order to wake him up, and also died in disgrace in order to help cleanse his karmic debt.

As punishment from the higher realms, Matthew was made to carry the painful memory of losing Anne across many subsequent lifetimes of cultivation, so as to accumulate merit for the lives he had harmed.

Moreover, the divine severed the bond between Matthew and Annie as a form of punishment, causing him to carry those memories while spending many lifetimes unable to find her. It was truly an agonizing experience.

As for Joan, she hated Matthew for Anne's death; had the reincarnated Anne not helped her let go of that hatred, she could never have forgiven Matthew.

And now, they have met again on Yu En Transmission.

Matthew and Joan are, in fact, two different Secondary Souls of Ariel's.

This is why Ariel is able to hold both perspectives at once, and record what Yu suffered during his persecution with such accuracy.

It is precisely because of Matthew and Joanne’s help that Ariel has been able to maintain a dual perspective, accurately documenting Yu’s experiences of persecution. Although they share the same body, Ariel is still influenced by their emotions and feelings.

Yu hopes that every person who has felt hatred because of his experience will have the opportunity to see this story: Redemption Amid Hatred.
