Baltimore Ravens edge rusher Mike Green had a solid rookie season. He recorded 41 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery. He was a second-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. With John Harbaugh fired as the head coach and off to the New York Giants now, Jesse Minter is the new head coach. Minter was the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers the last two seasons under Jim Harbaugh.

The Ravens defense was a mess last season. Hopefully, Baltimore has its defense figured out much better this season. It will be interesting to see how it goes for them.
NFL Analyst Believes Baltimore Ravens EDGE Rusher Mike Green Could Have Breakout Season

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com listed his potential breakout players for the 2026 NFL season. He listed Green as a breakout player. Brooks said,
“Jesse Minter’s return to Baltimore — and Trey Hendrickson‘s arrival in Charm City — should lead to a monstrous season for the second-year pro. Green is a twitchy edge defender with the first-step quickness and burst to create problems for lumbering tackles unable to match his energy. Moreover, he gets a chance to showcase his skills in an attack-style scheme that will force opponents to deal with the ultra-feisty Hendrickson on one side, leading to plenty of isolated matchups for the 6-foot-3, 250-pounder. After tallying 3.5 sacks, 14 quarterback hits and 41 total tackles in his debut season, Green could notch 10-plus sacks as a designated pass rusher on a defense that is transitioning from a conservative approach to an aggressive style that should produce more sacks.”
Green hopes to be a part of the solution for this Ravens defense. General manager Eric DeCosta was going to give up two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders for defensive end Maxx Crosby, but he decided to back out of the deal at the last second. Anyhow, Baltimore’s defense needs to be revamped in a big way this season also.
