German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE reported a sharp increase in new project orders during the second quarter, driven by robust demand from the United States as global investments in renewable energy continue to accelerate.

The company announced on Thursday that it received orders totaling 3,054 megawatts (MW) between April and June, marking a significant improvement from the 2,310 MW recorded during the same period last year. The strong performance reflects growing momentum in the global onshore wind market, particularly in North America, where developers continue expanding renewable energy capacity to meet rising electricity demand.

The latest figures highlight Nordex’s ability to capitalize on increasing investment in clean energy despite ongoing challenges facing the wind power industry, including supply chain pressures, higher financing costs, and evolving government policies. The company’s expanding order book provides greater visibility for future revenue and reinforces its position as one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of onshore wind turbines.

A major contributor to the quarter’s growth was the United States, where Nordex secured approximately 800 MW of new orders. Chief Executive Officer Jose Luis Blanco described the achievement as an important milestone for the company, emphasizing the strategic importance of the U.S. market in Nordex’s long-term growth plans.

The increase in orders comes as utilities, independent power producers, and governments worldwide continue investing in renewable energy infrastructure to strengthen energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Onshore wind remains one of the most cost-effective sources of electricity generation, making it a key component of many countries’ clean energy strategies.

The United States has emerged as a particularly important market for wind energy developers, with ongoing investments in new generation capacity supported by incentives aimed at expanding domestic renewable energy production. Strong project demand in the country has created opportunities for turbine manufacturers such as Nordex to secure large-scale contracts and diversify their international business.

The company’s improved quarterly performance also signals continued confidence among project developers despite economic uncertainty and changing market conditions. Rising electricity demand, driven in part by the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence, data centers, and industrial electrification, has increased the need for additional power generation from both renewable and conventional sources.

For Nordex, the latest order growth strengthens its project pipeline and supports future manufacturing activity as the company works to meet customer demand across multiple regions. A healthy backlog of turbine orders also provides greater financial stability and positions the company to benefit from the global transition toward cleaner energy systems.

As governments and businesses continue investing in renewable energy to meet climate goals and improve energy independence, demand for modern wind turbine technology is expected to remain strong. Nordex’s latest quarterly results suggest the company is well positioned to benefit from that trend, particularly as activity in the U.S. market continues to gain momentum.
