WASHINGTON — Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is now reportedly in talks to launch what she called a “true America-focused” third party after leaving Congress and walking away from the Republican Party.

Greene made the comments during an interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” saying she is discussing the possibility of a new political movement after announcing she was done with the GOP. Reports say Greene resigned from Congress effective Jan. 5, 2026, after a public break with President Donald Trump and Republican leadership.

And that is where the problem begins.

You cannot spend years inside the Republican Party, build your platform from the Republican base, rise to national fame under the MAGA banner, then retire, quit Congress, leave your own party and announce that now you want to build the “true America-focused” party.

America First is not owned by one person.

MAGA is not owned by one person.

And the voters are not pawns to be moved around every time a politician gets mad at leadership.

Greene has every right to disagree with the GOP. She has every right to criticize Republicans. Many voters are frustrated with weak leadership, broken promises and politicians who campaign one way and govern another.

But there is a difference between holding your party accountable and trying to split the movement after walking away.

That is the danger of a third party on the right.

Democrats do not need to beat conservatives if conservatives divide themselves. They do not need to win the argument if the right breaks into pieces before Election Day.

This is bigger than Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The conservative movement is supposed to be about God, family, country, the Constitution, secure borders, lower taxes, safe communities, parental rights, free speech and putting America first. Those values do not belong to a former member of Congress, a media personality or any political celebrity.

They belong to the American people.

Greene says she wants an America-focused party. But millions of Americans already believe the Republican Party can and should be forced back to America First principles from the inside.

Quitting the fight and starting another party may sound bold, but voters have seen this movie before. Third parties often do not win power. They divide power. And when the conservative vote is divided, the left benefits.

The same voters who sent Greene to Washington expected fighters. They expected backbone. They expected people who would stay in the fight even when it got ugly.

Walking away from Congress and then talking about launching a new party raises a serious question: Is this about saving America, or is this about political revenge?

Americans are tired of betrayal. They are tired of politicians using them for power, fame and fundraising, then changing direction when the heat turns on them.

If leaders truly believe in America First, they should prove it by fighting for the people, not by fracturing the movement that millions of Americans worked to build.

The Republican Party has problems. Big ones.

But the answer is not to hand Democrats an opening by dividing the conservative vote. The answer is to hold the line, clean house, primary weak Republicans and put real America First fighters in office.

Because this country does not need another political brand.

It needs courage.
