Work Beyond Acting

In addition to her acting career, Sweeney founded the production company Fifty-Fifty Films in 2020 and has served as a producer on several projects in which she also stars. She is also recognized for her business ventures, brand partnerships, and her passion for restoring classic cars—a hobby she frequently showcases on her social media platforms.

Sydney Sweeney's Passion for Car Restoration

Best known for her role in Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney has a passion that extends beyond Hollywood—restoring classic cars. In February 2021, she purchased a 1969 Ford Bronco, one of her dream vehicles. When the SUV developed mechanical issues and wasn't running the way she wanted, Sweeney chose to repair it herself instead of taking it to a mechanic.

She later launched a TikTok account where she shared videos of herself removing the Bronco's hardtop, tightening the wheels, replacing parts, and working on the engine with impressive confidence and skill. Her hands-on approach to car restoration quickly attracted attention, and her TikTok account has since grown to more than 1.5 million followers, offering fans a glimpse into one of her favorite hobbies outside of acting.

In a 2022 interview with Harper's Bazaar, Sydney Sweeney spoke about her lifelong passion for cars.

"I'm obsessed with vintage cars. When I was younger, I used to go to the racetrack with my sister, and I dreamed of becoming a race car driver when I grew up," she said.

Sweeney believes that restoring and repairing cars is an uncommon hobby among young people today, especially women. She hopes that by sharing her passion, she can help break gender stereotypes in the automotive world and inspire more women to explore interests that are traditionally considered male-dominated.

"I think people shouldn't be afraid to step into spaces where men are the majority. You only learn new things when you're willing to put yourself out there," Sweeney explained.

In addition to working on her own cars at home, the actress also borrows a friend's garage to improve her mechanical skills.

"My dad's close friend, Rod Emory, is a builder and restorer of classic Porsche cars. He lets me use his workshop so I can replace transmissions, rebuild brake systems, and restore interiors. I've learned so much from Rod," she said.

In April 2022, Sweeney completed the restoration of her classic Ford Bronco and showcased it at the eBay Auto Parts Show. She also revealed plans to restore "Britney," the name she gave to her 1969 Ford Mustang, which she purchased in May 2021.

"It'll probably take about three years before it's fully running," Sweeney said during the event.

After seeing Sweeney's passion for restoring classic cars through her social media videos, Ford and workwear brand Dickies partnered with the actress to launch a limited-edition collection of coveralls inspired by her love of automotive restoration. The collection was released in March.

Born in Washington, Sydney Sweeney grew up in a family where her mother worked as a lawyer and her father was employed in the medical field. She began acting at the age of 12 and quickly rose to prominence with her role as Cassie Howard in Euphoria. She also gained recognition through acclaimed projects such as The Handmaid's Tale and the psychological thriller The Voyeurs.

In 2021, the Associated Press (AP) recognized Sydney Sweeney as one of America's breakthrough entertainers, highlighting her rapid rise as one of Hollywood's most promising young stars.
