President Donald Trump used a series of Truth Social posts to warn against what he described as a growing communist movement within Democrat politics after left-wing candidates gained ground in New York primaries.

President Donald Trump sharpened his criticism of communism Thursday night, writing on Truth Social that “the game is on” after several days of posts warning about what he described as communist influence gaining strength inside Democrat politics.

Trump’s latest message followed Democratic House primary results in New York, where candidates backed by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani won key races Tuesday and expanded the influence of candidates aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America within the state party.

“The Communists are finally making their move. I’ve been waiting and preparing for this for a long time,” Trump wrote.

“It’s easy to be a Communist, All you have to do is say, ‘I’ll give you everything,’ but that means you’re taking it away from others that have earned it. Over thousands of years, that Ideology has not worked once,” he continued.

“The game is on. Enjoy watching!”

The Thursday post continued a theme Trump had emphasized throughout the week as he linked Democratic primary victories by left-wing candidates to a broader political argument over socialism, communism and economic redistribution.

On Tuesday night, Trump wrote, “Many Communists running in badly failing Blue States. The votes seem to have them doing quite well against each other.”

“The bad news is that history has conclusively shown that the downtrodden States that they will soon be running will ONLY GET WORSE. MAGA!” he added.

Trump followed that Wednesday with another post, declaring, “America the Beautiful will NEVER be a Communist Country!!!”

The comments came after Mamdani-backed candidates scored victories in New York’s Democratic House primaries, including two wins over incumbent representatives. The results strengthened the position of DSA-aligned candidates in New York Democratic politics and renewed debate over the party’s ideological direction.

Progressives celebrated the primary victories, while some Democratic leaders expressed concern about the broader political implications of the results.

Mamdani, a democratic socialist and DSA member, has become one of the country’s most visible progressive elected officials. His allies’ success in Tuesday’s primaries gave further momentum to candidates associated with his political movement.

Trump has repeatedly referred to Mamdani and aligned candidates as communists, arguing that left-wing economic policies would damage prosperity by relying on wealth redistribution. His posts this week framed the New York primary results as part of a larger national political fight over the direction of the Democratic Party and the future of the country’s economic system.
