Over the past several weeks, some voices within the conservative movement have attempted to draw lines between MAGA and America First, suggesting they are somehow separate movements with different goals and different futures.

They’re wrong.

There is no separating MAGA from America First.

The America First movement did not begin in a television studio, on a podcast, or in a congressional office. It was built by millions of Americans who were tired of watching politicians from both parties put special interests, foreign governments, corporate lobbyists, and Washington insiders ahead of the American people.

When Donald Trump came down that escalator in 2015, he gave a voice to Americans who felt abandoned by the political establishment. The slogan “Make America Great Again” became more than a campaign message. It became a movement centered around secure borders, economic opportunity, energy independence, law and order, constitutional rights, and putting American citizens first.

That is America First.

Today, some prominent figures—including members of Congress, media personalities, and influencers—are attempting to position themselves as the gatekeepers of the movement. They speak as though they have the authority to determine who is and is not America First.

They do not.

No one elected Congressman Thomas Massie to lead the movement.

No one appointed Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as its spokesperson.

No one selected Tucker Carlson as its chairman.

The America First movement belongs to the American people who built it.

It belongs to the truck drivers, factory workers, veterans, law enforcement officers, small-business owners, parents, grandparents, and taxpayers who have spent years fighting for their country and their values.

The strength of the movement has always been that it is larger than any single politician, commentator, influencer, or personality.

Disagreements are inevitable. Healthy debate is part of any political movement. Conservatives do not have to agree on every issue, every bill, every endorsement, or every strategy.

But there is a difference between debate and division.

There is a difference between offering an opinion and declaring yourself the voice of millions of Americans.

The reality is that the America First movement continues to support the core principles that brought it together in the first place: secure borders, strong national defense, economic prosperity, energy independence, parental rights, individual liberty, and putting American citizens ahead of global interests.

Those principles did not originate with any podcast host or member of Congress, and they will not disappear if a few prominent personalities decide to take a different path.

Movements survive because of the people, not because of the commentators discussing them.

The future of America First will not be decided by social media arguments or cable news appearances. It will be decided by voters across the country who continue to believe that government should serve the American people first.

That is what MAGA represents.

That is what America First represents.

And despite the attempts by some to divide the two, they remain one and the same.
