President Donald Trump is scheduled to sign a Republican-backed reconciliation bill Wednesday morning that provides funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection through the end of his term.

The signing is set to take place in the Oval Office, where Trump is also expected to hold a press conference as tensions with Iran escalate again following the downing of a U.S. Apache helicopter.

The House passed the $70 billion funding bill Tuesday after a contentious Senate vote. The measure funds ICE and CBP and represents a major legislative victory for Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda.

The bill signing comes as the administration is also confronting renewed hostilities with Iran. Trump announced Wednesday morning that the U.S.-Iran ceasefire had effectively ended, saying Iran had taken “too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them.”

Trump warned that Iran would “pay the price” and suggested U.S. strikes could continue. He also said he “may keep going,” including by targeting Iranian infrastructure.

The latest escalation followed an exchange of fire between the United States and Iran after Iran shot down a U.S. Apache helicopter Monday. Trump has said the United States must respond to the attack.

The president is expected to provide additional updates on the conflict during the Oval Office event.

The signing of the immigration enforcement bill and the expected comments on Iran place two of Trump’s major policy priorities — border enforcement and national security — at the center of Wednesday’s White House schedule.
