President Donald Trump said Wednesday he is getting close to ordering new strikes against Iranian infrastructure after warning that Tehran has taken too long to negotiate a peace deal and will now “have to pay the price.”
Trump made the comments during a phone call with Fox News, saying he is considering strikes against Iranian power plants and bridges as pressure builds on the Islamic Republic to come to the table and finalize an agreement.
“I may keep going,” Trump told Fox News. “They had a chance to sign a deal and survive.”
The president also accused Iran of playing games with the United States during the negotiation process, saying Tehran has been “tapping the United States alone” instead of dealing honestly and directly.
The warning comes as tensions between the United States and Iran continue to rise. Trump said Iran has dragged out the talks for too long, even after being given the opportunity to make a deal that could have avoided further consequences.
“Iran is all talk and no action,” Trump wrote in a social media post. “They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price.”
The message from the president was clear. America is no longer willing to sit at the table while Iran delays, threatens and tries to buy time. Trump has made it plain that diplomacy has a deadline, and if Iran refuses to act in good faith, the United States is prepared to respond with force.
For years, Iran has been allowed to test America, threaten our allies and use negotiations as a way to stall while continuing its aggression in the region. Trump’s latest warning signals that those days may be coming to an end.
Power plants and bridges are not small targets. They represent the kind of infrastructure that keeps a nation moving. By naming them directly, Trump is sending a message that Iran’s leadership cannot hide behind empty talks while expecting no consequences.
The White House has not yet announced a final order for new strikes, and officials have said talks are still continuing. But the president’s tone made clear that patience is running out.
Trump has always believed in peace through strength. His warning to Iran is another example of that doctrine in action. Negotiate honestly, make the deal, or face the price of dragging America and the world into another round of danger.
Iran now has a choice. It can stop playing games and make peace, or it can continue down a road that may bring serious consequences to its own doorstep.
