Following Iran’s overnight missile attack on Israel on June 7, which triggered panic among civilians and forced many to seek shelter during incoming missile strikes, Israel launched retaliatory attacks against Iranian targets. The exchange prompted the United States to urge both countries to stop further escalation immediately.

President Donald Trump called on both Israel and Iran to halt hostilities, and Israel reportedly agreed, pending a final decision at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later tonight.

According to Israeli media reports, while Israel has agreed to suspend further strikes on Iran at Washington’s request, it will continue its military operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Israel has intensified its campaign in the region over the past three months, carrying out numerous strikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and senior militant leaders.

“Both sides, Israel and Iran, are looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE! Final negotiations on ‘Peace’ are proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way. The Blockade will remain in place, and in full force and effect, until a ‘Final Deal’ is reached,” Trump announced.

An Israeli official told Hebrew media that the decision to halt strikes on Iran was made at Trump’s request but stressed that Israel would continue targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that its troops have conducted more than 100 targeted strikes in southern Lebanon in recent days, resulting in the deaths of approximately 20 militants and the seizure of large quantities of weapons.

According to the IDF, Israeli forces established positions in the areas of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah as part of ongoing operations aimed at disrupting militant activity near the border.

“In recent days, troops established IDF positions within the areas of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah in southern Lebanon. So far, more than 100 strikes have been conducted and approximately 20 terrorists have been eliminated, alongside the discovery of hundreds of weapons inside civilian homes in the area,” the military said in a statement while releasing footage of the seized weapons.
