At least three Lebanese soldiers were killed on Saturday after an Israeli strike targeted a military vehicle in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese authorities.

The Lebanese army said that the attack hit a military vehicle traveling on the Khardali-Nabatieh road in southern Lebanon. The strike reportedly killed two Lebanese officers and one soldier, while the vehicle sustained severe damage.

Lebanese officials alleged that the attack was carried out by Israel, describing it as a direct strike on members of the country’s armed forces. No immediate information was released regarding additional casualties or injuries, and authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The attack comes as exchanges of fire and military operations continue along the border between Israel and Lebanon, raising concerns about a wider regional confrontation. The area has witnessed repeated strikes and cross-border attacks over the past several months, with both sides accusing each other of violating security and sovereignty.

As of the latest reports, Israeli authorities have not publicly commented on the incident or confirmed responsibility for the strike.

The deaths of the three Lebanese servicemen are expected to intensify diplomatic and security concerns in the region. International observers have repeatedly called for restraint and the protection of military and civilian personnel to prevent further escalation.

The Khardali-Nabatieh road, where the strike occurred, has been the site of heightened military activity in recent months due to its proximity to the volatile border area.
