Peterson Racing will field Nick Sanchez for a four-race stint in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series this summer, beginning June 13 at Pocono Raceway. The program also includes Chicagoland Speedway, EchoPark Speedway, and Indianapolis Raceway Park. The announcement marks a return to on-track competition for Sanchez, who has spent much of the season without a full-time ride following a series of changes across multiple teams.

Sanchez entered the year after a rookie campaign that included a win at Atlanta Motor Speedway, now EchoPark Speedway, and an 11th-place finish in the championship standings. Despite that performance, he did not return to Big Machine Racing when the organization adjusted its plans during the offseason. He later joined AM Racing on a part-time basis, but that opportunity ended after the team shut down operations early in the season.

With most full-time seats already filled across the series, Sanchez remained without a regular ride until Peterson Racing finalized the four-race agreement. The team brings in a driver with experience in both ARCA and the national series, including an ARCA Menards championship and a race win in NASCAR’s national ranks. Sanchez, meanwhile, gains track time in four very different venues, each with its own demands.

Pocono requires precision across long straightaways and unique corner geometry. Chicagoland emphasizes long-run speed and tire management. Atlanta places drivers in drafting packs where positioning often matters more than raw pace. Indianapolis Raceway Park is a short-track setting where restarts and traffic define the outcome.

Sanchez said in the team’s announcement that he is looking forward to the opportunity and views the program as a chance to contribute to the organization’s development. No plans beyond the four scheduled races have been announced. The stretch gives Sanchez a limited window to reestablish momentum in the series and remain in front of team owners as roster decisions continue to evolve through the summer.
