Washington DC – Rudy Giuliani declared that the Iranian regime is entering its “final stage of collapse” during a major opposition rally in Washington, D.C., telling thousands of supporters that the fall of the ruling clerical establishment is now “a historical certainty and only a matter of time.”
Speaking before a crowd of Iranian opposition supporters, American political figures, and activists, Giuliani argued that the government in Tehran is facing unprecedented pressure from internal unrest, regional conflict, economic instability, and growing international isolation.
“The collapse of the Mullah regime is no longer a theory or a political prediction,” Giuliani said during the demonstration. “It is a historical certainty and only a matter of time.”
The rally, organized in support of a democratic and non-nuclear republic in Iran, brought together members of the Iranian-American community and supporters of the resistance movement led by Maryam Rajavi and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, also known as the MEK.
Giuliani claimed the Iranian leadership is showing signs of severe weakness, alleging that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s absence from public life has intensified uncertainty within the regime. He described the current leadership structure as “a body without a brain,” arguing that Tehran is no longer capable of projecting stability or confidence.
According to Giuliani, the combination of domestic unrest and external pressure has placed the Islamic Republic in one of the most vulnerable positions in its history. He said the Iranian people increasingly reject both religious dictatorship and authoritarian rule.
The former New York mayor also praised Rajavi’s 10-point plan for Iran’s future, describing it as a roadmap for a democratic republic based on freedom, gender equality, separation of religion and state, and the rejection of nuclear weapons.
“This gathering is proof that the Iranian people and their supporters across the world are prepared for a democratic future,” Giuliani said. “The future of Iran belongs to freedom, not dictatorship.”
A major focus of Giuliani’s remarks centered on Iran’s nuclear program. He warned that Tehran “must never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons,” describing the prospect as a major threat to international security.
“Nuclear weapons in the hands of a government driven by extremism and anti-human ideology would be a catastrophe,” he said. “This regime has demonstrated throughout its history that it cannot be trusted with such power.”
Giuliani also defended the hardline policies pursued by Donald Trump toward Tehran, arguing that increased international pressure has weakened the regime politically and militarily throughout the region.
He further claimed that organized “Resistance Units” operating inside Iran are helping undermine the regime through intelligence gathering and political organization, while growing calls in Europe to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization demonstrate changing international attitudes toward Tehran.
The former mayor additionally condemned recent executions carried out by Iranian authorities, including executions involving opposition figures linked to the MEK. Giuliani described the executions as “a sign of fear and panic” within the ruling establishment rather than strength.
“These executions will not stop the resistance,” Giuliani stated. “They will only strengthen the determination of the Iranian people to fight for freedom.”
Throughout the rally, speakers emphasized that the opposition movement rejects both the current clerical system and any return to monarchy, insisting that Iran’s future must be decided through democratic elections and civilian rule.
Concluding his remarks, Giuliani said the era of “Velayat-e Faqih,” Iran’s system of clerical rule, is approaching its end and argued that lasting peace in the Middle East depends on democratic change in Iran.
“The Iranian people have made their choice,” Giuliani said. “They do not want dictatorship under the Shah, and they do not want tyranny under the Mullahs. They want freedom, democracy, and a republic based on the will of the people”.
