“On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love,” Leavitt wrote.

“She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister. We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble,” she added.

Leavitt also thanked supporters who had offered prayers and encouragement throughout her pregnancy.

“Thank you to everyone who reached out with prayers during my pregnancy — I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is Good,” she wrote.

Viviana is Leavitt’s second child. Her son, Nicholas Leavitt, was born in July 2024 during President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Leavitt had formally stepped away from daily White House briefing duties shortly before the birth.

During an April 24 press gaggle, she told reporters it would likely be her final appearance before beginning maternity leave.

“As you can see, I’m about ready to have a baby any minute, so I will see you guys very soon,” Leavitt said at the time.

“I know you’ll be in very good hands with my team here at the White House, and I know all of you have the president’s phone number personally,” she joked.

Despite beginning leave, Leavitt briefly returned to the briefing room on April 27 following a security incident involving an attempted attack connected to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Addressing reporters after the incident, Leavitt condemned escalating political violence targeting Trump and his supporters.

“Nobody in recent years has faced more bullets and more violence than President Trump,” she said.

“This political violence stems from a systemic demonization of him and his supporters by commentators; yes, by elected members of the Democrat Party; and even some in the media,” Leavitt added.

Leavitt has become one of the most visible public figures inside Trump’s second administration, frequently serving as the White House’s primary spokesperson during ongoing debates surrounding immigration, foreign policy, and domestic political tensions.

The White House has not yet announced when Leavitt plans to formally return to her full press briefing schedule.
