Katy Perry didn’t even need a stage at Coachella 2026. She found a way to go viral with the crowd. The 41-year-old pop star was there for Justin Bieber’s big Saturday night headlining set, just soaking it all in, when she stole the show with one quick, perfect joke.

Bieber, midway through his set, suddenly grabbed a laptop and started scrolling through his old YouTube videos. He spent nearly 25 minutes singing along to his early hits, like a living internet time capsule. It was both nostalgic and a little weird, but Katy Perry had the best reaction.

As Bieber fired up YouTube onstage, Perry looked over and deadpanned, “Thank God he has Premium. I don’t wanna see no ads.” Someone caught it on video, posted it online within minutes, and the whole internet ran with it.

Bieber’s set itself was a big moment. It marks his first massive live show in four years after having to cancel his Justice World Tour in 2022 due to Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which partially paralyzed his face. Saturday’s show felt like a victory lap for fans who had waited a long time to see him back up there.

He leaned into his newer material, but the YouTube detour gave fans what they wanted most: a trip back in time. Bieber sang along to old favorites like “Baby,” “Favorite Girl,” and “Beauty and a Beat,” songs he hadn’t touched onstage in over a decade. He even brought out guests like The Kid LAROI, Tems, and MKGEE during his 90-minute set.

Not everybody was into the whole YouTube bit, though. While some people saw nostalgia and fun, others rolled their eyes at what they called a low-effort show. Still, the tribute to Bieber’s YouTube roots seemed to strike the right chord for most.

The crowd was packed with stars such as Hailey Bieber, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, and, of course, Perry herself. But somehow, Katy kept pulling focus. She later dropped an Instagram carousel with her own Coachella highlights, including a shot of Bieber on the big screen from her spot in the crowd, plus videos of her dancing alongside former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, with whom she has been linked since mid-2025.

Katy Perry didn’t even touch the mic that night, but if you ask the internet, she still managed to have the last word.
