President rejects outside narratives on negotiations and warns unauthorized statements will be investigated.

Donald Trump on Wednesday criticized what he described as inaccurate and unauthorized claims about the terms of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire, insisting that only one set of negotiation points is valid as diplomatic talks continue.
In a message posted to Truth Social, Trump said individuals not involved in the negotiations had circulated competing proposals and misleading information about the agreement.
“Numerous Agreements, Lists, and Letters are being sent out by people that have absolutely nothing to do with the U.S.A. / Iran Negotiation, in many cases, they are total Fraudsters, Charlatans, and WORSE,” Trump wrote. “They will be rapidly exposed after our Federal Investigation is completed.”
He added that discussions with Iran are proceeding under a single framework. “There is only one group of meaningful ‘POINTS’ that are acceptable to the United States, and we will be discussing them behind closed doors during these Negotiations,” Trump said. “These are the POINTS that are the basis on which we agreed to a CEASEFIRE.”
The ceasefire, announced Tuesday, established a temporary pause in hostilities between the United States and Iran. However, both sides have referenced separate proposals as the basis for continued negotiations, contributing to uncertainty over the precise terms.
Trump previously described Iran’s reported 10-point proposal as “workable,” while Iranian officials indicated that both their proposal and a separate U.S. 15-point framework would guide negotiations. The overlapping references have led to differing interpretations of the agreement’s structure.
The president also criticized media coverage of the negotiations, specifically referencing reporting by CNN. Trump said the outlet had cited a source lacking authority to represent official positions, calling the report inaccurate.
Additional confusion surrounding the ceasefire emerged after Shehbaz Sharif, who helped broker the agreement, stated that the ceasefire applied to Lebanon. The White House later said Lebanon was not included in the terms of the deal.
The conflicting statements have underscored ongoing ambiguity as negotiations move forward. U.S. officials have indicated that discussions will continue behind closed doors to determine whether the temporary ceasefire can be extended or developed into a longer-term agreement.
