Recently, well-known social media figure Hu Liren attended a performance by the Shen Yun Performing Arts troupe at New York’s Lincoln Center, which he hailed as an “epic masterpiece.” Following the performance, he delivered a deeply moving confession during a live broadcast. Drawing on his extensive experience and keen observation of people, he detailed why he firmly supports the Falun Gong community.
His remarks were not merely a personal reflection but also a sharp exposé, precisely dissecting the underlying logic behind the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong: a final confrontation between “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” and “Falsehood, Evil, Violence.”
Breaking prejudice: from distant observation to respect
Hu Liren admitted that he first became aware of Falun Gong back in 1999, when the CCP began its crackdown, but at that time he merely observed from a distance. It was only after he went into exile in the U.S. in 2018 that he had the opportunity to interact deeply with Falun Gong practitioners and Chinese communities overseas. What surprised him was that even among overseas democracy activists or those who had fled the CCP, many were still deeply influenced by years of CCP propaganda and held inexplicable biases against Falun Gong.
However, facts speak louder than words. With over thirty years of social experience and considering himself “highly discerning and critical of people,” Hu Liren noticed a clear pattern during his more than seven years in the U.S.: the people who were most pleasant to interact with—those who were honest and consistent, highly trustworthy, and truly embodied the fine qualities of traditional Chinese culture—were often Falun Gong practitioners.
“I’ve interacted with them for over seven years, and I cannot find a single fault among them—none of them are bad people!” This heartfelt admiration gave him the confidence to speak publicly in support of Falun Gong. He even bluntly criticized those who maliciously attack Falun Gong during his live broadcast: “If you don’t understand them and yet frequently and maliciously attack this group, you are abnormal. You can leave—don’t watch my program!” His moral courage, clear-cut and unafraid of rumors, was deeply moving.

Upholding moral boundaries: Falun Gong as the CCP’s greatest obstacle
During the broadcast, Hu Liren highlighted a profound point: why does the CCP feel compelled to persecute a group of practitioners who pose no threat to society and focus solely on self-cultivation? The answer lies in “moral boundaries.”
Falun Gong teaches people to cultivate virtue. Those with genuine faith naturally have a moral baseline. Hu Liren sharply pointed out that the CCP’s totalitarian machine is built on “absolute obedience and committing evil”: if a superior orders you to kill, you kill; if ordered to fabricate charges, you fabricate; if instructed to persecute the innocent, you must persecute.
Falun Gong practitioners, however, would never do such things. When a person with a firm moral faith faces an innocent individual without grievance or crime, they not only refrain from assault, abuse, or organ harvesting—they treat the person with kindness. When a group refuses to participate in evil and refuses to become cogs in a totalitarian machine, they become the CCP system’s greatest obstacle. Their existence prevents the CCP from acting with impunity; their goodness starkly contrasts the CCP’s evil.
‘Falsehood, evil, violence’ vs. ‘truthfulness, compassion, forbearance:’ the CCP’s natural enemy
Hu Liren brought the discussion to its core: the relationship between the CCP and Falun Gong is one of evil versus goodness—two completely opposing poles. Falun Gong’s principles are “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” while the CCP’s essence is entirely “Falsehood, Evil, Violence.”
What is the CCP’s “falsehood”? Hu Liren bluntly stated that everything under CCP rule is false—news is fake, history is falsified, and even the everyday food consumed by ordinary people is often toxic and fake. In a system that forces everyone to lie, “truth” becomes the ultimate subversive force.
What is the CCP’s “evil”? Its evil has reached a pathological level—from political campaigns since the founding of the PRC to tanks in Tiananmen Square; from the cruel live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience to extreme wealth inequality today—corrupt officials embezzle billions while hardworking farmers receive only meager pensions.
What is the CCP’s “violence”? The CCP rose and maintains its rule through “violent revolution” and “class struggle.” It constantly promotes “fight to the end,” intimidating people with violence and maintaining power through guns and knives.

For this reason, a faith group that emphasizes “truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance” quietly undermines the CCP’s lies and violence simply by existing. As Hu Liren summarized: “The principles and teachings of Falun Gong are completely opposite to those of the CCP. Falun Gong is the CCP’s natural enemy—the true nemesis of the CCP!”
Hu Liren’s live broadcast is both thought-provoking and a call to human kindness. The CCP has spent twenty-six years violently suppressing Falun Gong because darkness fears light, and evil fears goodness. Understanding Falun Gong reveals the CCP’s true nature. In this century-long confrontation between “Falsehood, Evil, Violence” and “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” the side one chooses has become the ultimate test of conscience and moral boundaries for every Chinese person and indeed all humanity.
