President Donald Trump said the United States could expand its military campaign against Iran to include additional strikes on critical infrastructure, including bridges and electric power facilities, as the conflict continues to escalate.
In a late-night statement on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Our Military, the greatest and most powerful (by far!) anywhere in the World, hasn’t even started destroying what’s left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants!”
The comments followed an earlier post in which the president shared video footage of a U.S. strike targeting a major bridge near Tehran. In that message, Trump wrote, “The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again—Much more to follow!” He added, “It is time for Iran to make a deal before it is too late, and there is nothing left of what still could become a great country!”
A U.S. military official familiar with the operation identified the structure as the B1 Bridge, a route connecting Tehran with the nearby city of Karaj. The official said the strike was intended to disrupt what was described as a planned supply corridor supporting Iran’s ballistic missile and drone operations.
The escalation comes shortly after Trump indicated in a national address that U.S. military actions would intensify over a period of weeks. “We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong,” the president said.
Iranian officials condemned the strike, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi characterizing it as an attack on civilian infrastructure. In a statement shared on X, he said, “Striking civilian structures, including unfinished bridges, will not compel Iranians to surrender. It only conveys the defeat and moral collapse of an enemy in disarray. Every bridge and building will be built back stronger. What will never recover: damage to America’s standing.”
Iranian state media reported that at least two civilians were killed and several others injured in the strike on the bridge. Additional reports indicated that the Pasteur Institute of Iran, a medical research facility in Tehran, was also hit during the broader series of attacks.
On the same day, Iranian forces reportedly launched missile strikes targeting Israeli military installations, U.S. bases in the region, and industrial facilities connected to U.S. interests.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) also claimed responsibility for an attack on a data center in the United Arab Emirates operated by the U.S. technology company Oracle. Iranian state media said the IRGC cited the company’s ties to U.S. military and intelligence operations as justification.
The IRGC further warned of potential actions against other technology companies it identified as having business relationships with the U.S. defense sector, including Meta, Google, Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Dell, Palantir, Nvidia, Tesla, Boeing, Cisco, and Intel.
The developments mark an expansion in both the scale and scope of targets in the ongoing conflict, with infrastructure and private-sector assets increasingly referenced in statements from both sides.
