Authorities in Russia’s Bryansk region reported that a missile strike late Tuesday killed six civilians and injured dozens more, according to statements from regional officials and Russian state media.

Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz said the attack resulted in six deaths and left 37 people wounded. The strike occurred in the city of Bryansk, located near Russia’s western border with Ukraine.

Videos circulated on Russian social media platforms show damaged buildings and debris in the aftermath of the incident. Reuters reported it verified the location of the footage by comparing road layouts, nearby structures and utility poles with satellite imagery.

The damaged area shown in the footage corresponds to coordinates 53.246980, 34.335531. While the visual evidence confirmed the location of the destruction, the exact time the videos were recorded could not be independently verified. No earlier versions of the footage were found posted online before March 10.

Governor Bogomaz was also seen visiting the site of the damage along Krasnoarmeyskaya Street in footage shared through his Telegram channel on March 10.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged the strike in Bryansk the same day, confirming that Ukrainian forces carried out an attack in the region.

Russian defense officials said their air defense systems intercepted two British-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles within the past 24 hours. The claim was reported by Russia’s RIA news agency.

Earlier Tuesday, Ukrainian officials said they used Storm Shadow missiles in an operation targeting a facility in Bryansk believed to be involved in manufacturing components used in missile systems.

The Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, has experienced repeated attacks since the beginning of the conflict between the two countries. Military facilities and infrastructure in the area have been targeted multiple times during the war.

Authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage from the latest strike as emergency crews respond to the affected areas.
