President Donald Trump said Monday that he and Vice President JD Vance held somewhat different perspectives regarding the decision to carry out military strikes against Iran alongside Israel, though he emphasized that both ultimately supported the operation.

Trump made the remarks during a press conference following an address to Republican lawmakers gathered for a congressional retreat at Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida.

When asked whether there had been disagreements within his administration about the decision to strike Iran, Trump initially responded that there had not been major differences between the two leaders.

However, he later acknowledged that Vance had approached the issue from a somewhat different philosophical standpoint.

According to reporting by Forbes, Trump said the vice president had been less eager about initiating military action.

Trump told reporters that Vance was “philosophically a little bit different than me” when evaluating the decision to launch the strikes.

Without describing the specific points of disagreement, Trump said the vice president’s position reflected a more cautious approach to the conflict.

He explained that while Vance was not as enthusiastic about initiating the attack as he was, the vice president ultimately supported the administration’s course of action.

“Maybe less enthusiastic about going, but he was quite enthusiastic,” Trump said.

The remarks came as the United States and Israel continue a coordinated military campaign targeting Iranian military assets, missile infrastructure, and naval capabilities as part of the expanding regional conflict.
