The Dark Entertainment Industry (Part VI): Demonic Possession
Yu Menglong told Yu-En something unsettling: in entertainment industries around the world, there are actually performers who have been possessed by demonic entities.
Yu-En was already aware of this, because Yu-En can see attachments on many people. The most common possessing entities are fox, weasel, hedgehog, snake, and rat — fox spirits (from fox-spirit temples), weasels (from Wong Tai Sin temples), hedgehogs (from yin temples), large snakes (from snake temples), and rats. Some of these entities crouch on a person's shoulders, some lodge in the medulla oblongata, and some simply follow behind the person.
There are also possessing entities linked to karmic cause and effect — someone harmed in a past life who, seeking revenge, attaches to the performer. But since such cases are relatively few, Yu-En won't elaborate further here.
Yu said: why do these animals come to harm performers? Let's look at it from another angle. The act of being a fan is, in a sense, a form of faith. Fans are drawn to performers by their singing, appearance, acting, and so on, forming a kind of devotion to a person (here meaning admiration, not religious belief in the divine). The more fans a performer has, the more likely there is a possessing entity behind them, whose purpose is to siphon the fans' vital essence — their jing, qi, and shen — through that performer.
Performers with possessing entities frequently hold large-scale concerts, because that's where the greatest concentration of fans gathers. Yu-En never attends concerts, rarely goes to theaters, and doesn't even go to cinemas, because Yu-En can see the entities behind these performers, and these large events help the entities harvest the vital essence of vast numbers of fans.
The purpose of these entities siphoning human vital essence is to cultivate an immortal body — but this is something the Heavenly Dao does not permit, and the laws of the new universe forbid it even more strictly. Because possessing entities lack human moral principles, anything they cultivate would become demonic. So when an entity attempts to achieve immortality, the deities of the heavenly realm will hunt it down. To date, not a single possessing entity has succeeded in this cultivation. This is why it is said in cultivation circles that "a human body is hard to obtain" — because only humans, as the most spiritual of all beings, can truly cultivate. That is precisely why these creatures seek to possess humans in order to obtain a human form.
How can you tell whether a performer you admire has a possessing entity? Yu said you can observe whether the performer's large concert events are predominantly themed in black and red (or deep crimson). Of course, fans might say the black color scheme is just meant to look cool and edgy. But evil beings have a particular affinity for black and blood-red, and this can serve as a distinguishing marker.
Yu wants Yu-En to pass along this message: if you attend a large concert (or a musical performance, play, or movie screening) and come home with a fever or feeling unwell, it is very possibly a side effect of having your vital essence drained. The most obvious symptoms are fever or cold-like illness, and in severe cases it can develop into pneumonia.
But everyone doesn’t need to worry too much about this. A person’s vital energy, essence, and spirit can be replenished in many different ways.
As long as you don’t become overly obsessed with that celebrity or spend every day watching their concert videos across various platforms, you’ll be fine. Try to go বাইরে more often, exercise, get some sunlight, maintain a regular routine, or practice Falun Gong (this was said by Yu, not by Yu En). Gradually, your energy will recover.
As for how these possessing entities came to be behind those performers, Yu-En would also like to explain.
When we encounter something we can't figure out, or have unfulfilled desires, we go to temples to pray. But will a deity really grant your wish just because you ask? Yu-En would like Yu to answer this: Yu said that if the request is for emergency relief rather than driven by obsessive desire, the deities will help — in fact, you may not even need to ask, because with so many compassionate deities in heaven, they will help of their own great mercy.
But what is the purpose when performers go to pray? Beyond seeking safety and peace, they pray for their entertainment careers to become wildly successful and for wealth to flow in endlessly.
Legitimate major temples have deities presiding over them, and these deities will not grant performers' obsessive wishes (for stardom and endless wealth). In the eyes of the deities, the true purpose of prayer should be this: when a person on the path of spiritual cultivation encounters interference from demons and evil spirits, they pray to the deities for a protective shield so they can cultivate in peace. Another situation is emergency relief, where the deities will also show great compassion and help.
However, there are situations where help cannot be given — when a person has committed too many misdeeds and exhausted their store of merit. The deities cannot intervene, because everyone must repay their own karmic debts. The principle that good and evil receive their due recompense is a heavenly law, and the deities are the guardians of universal law — they cannot possibly break the very laws they uphold. If deities themselves did something they shouldn't, they would be cast down by the laws of the universe. How could they possibly help evildoers escape their consequences?
So, when the deities of legitimate temples cannot grant performers' wishes for career success, these performers turn instead to illegitimate shrines and temples (yin temples dedicated to fox, weasel, hedgehog, snake, and rat spirits) to ask these so-called "great immortals" (possessing entities) for help.
These so-called great immortals, in order to extract even more human vital essence to refine their elixirs of immortality, will assist these performers and boost their entertainment careers.
And the most famous of all is Thailand's White Dragon King (birth name: Zhou Qinnan). We will share more about him in the next installment.
