Bipartisan Backing Emerges as Democrats Rally Behind Trump’s Joint U.S.–Israel Strikes on Iran

In a rare moment of bipartisan alignment, several prominent Democrats voiced support for President Donald Trump following overnight joint military strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against targets in Iran.

The coordinated action, described by the administration as necessary to eliminate imminent threats, has sparked global reaction — but also drew notable backing from across the aisle.

Among those expressing support were Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), Rep. Don Davis (D-NC), and Rep. Greg Landsman (D-OH). Each lawmaker issued public statements emphasizing unity, national security, and the broader fight against terrorism.

Senator Fetterman took to X, where he referenced what he called “Operation Epic Fury,” praising the president’s willingness to act decisively.

He stated that President Trump “has been willing to do what’s right and necessary to produce real peace in the region,” adding a message of support for the U.S. military and America’s alliance with Israel.

His remarks signaled approval of the administration’s justification that the strikes were intended to neutralize immediate dangers posed by the Iranian regime.

Representative Don Davis echoed similar sentiments, stressing the importance of unity in confronting terrorism and human rights abuses. In his statement, Davis argued that regimes supporting terror networks and destabilizing neighboring countries cannot be trusted.

He warned that global instability fueled by extremist proxy groups threatens not only regional peace but also the safety of American citizens and U.S. allies worldwide. Davis further emphasized that while strong action may be necessary, Congress must remain informed to ensure proper oversight and accountability.

Representative Greg Landsman also expressed firm backing for the operation. In a detailed thread, he explained that the strikes were aimed at destroying Iran’s missile stockpiles and weapons infrastructure in order to prevent further loss of life.

He clarified that the targets were strictly military in nature and that warnings were issued to Iranian civilians to distance themselves from those sites. According to Landsman, weakening Iran’s weapons capabilities is a critical step toward reducing violence in the region.

Landsman went on to argue that much of the Middle East’s ongoing turmoil stems from the actions of the Iranian regime.

He cited Iran’s support for militant groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, claiming that these alliances have fueled years of bloodshed and instability. In his view, removing the regime’s capacity to project violence could open the door to a more peaceful regional future.

The Democratic statements followed President Trump’s national address announcing that U.S. forces had begun what he described as “major combat operations in Iran.”

He stated that the strikes were designed to eliminate “imminent threats from the Iranian regime” that directly endangered American troops, overseas bases, and allied nations.

According to the president, a primary objective was to dismantle Iran’s missile production industry and prevent the development or deployment of nuclear-tipped long-range missiles capable of reaching the United States or Europe.

In response, Iranian forces reportedly launched retaliatory strikes against Israel, escalating tensions and raising fears of a broader regional conflict.

In a dramatic development, President Trump later confirmed reports that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, had been killed during an Israeli strike on his compound in Tehran.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump described Khamenei as responsible for years of violence and characterized his death as justice not only for Iranians but also for Americans and others around the world affected by Iran-backed militant activities.

As the situation continues to unfold, the bipartisan expressions of support underscore the gravity of the moment. While debate is likely to continue in Congress and among the American public, the statements from these Democratic lawmakers highlight a shared belief among some leaders that confronting terrorism and preventing further escalation requires decisive action — and, above all, unity.
