Americans don’t need a media analyst or a political expert to tell them there’s a double standard in this country. We see it every day. And nowhere is it clearer than in how the media treats Republicans versus Democrats.

Back in 2023, when President Joe Biden gave his State of the Union address, Marjorie Taylor Greene shouted out “Liar!” from the chamber. The moment instantly became a national scandal — at least according to the media. Commentators demanded punishment. Pundits talked about “decorum.” Editorial boards acted like the republic itself was in danger because a congresswoman spoke out during a speech.

But let’s be honest about something most Americans already know.

Marjorie Taylor Greene was right.

Joe Biden stood up there and told the country things that simply weren’t true. Millions of Americans knew it as soon as the words came out of his mouth. Greene said out loud what a lot of citizens were saying in their living rooms. And for that, the media tried to turn her into a villain.

During President Trump’s State of the Union–style address, Ilhan Omar attempted to interrupt and shout at the President for saying things that are actually true. Yet suddenly the outrage machine disappeared. The same media voices that demanded consequences in 2023 are now strangely quiet.

No lectures about decorum.

No calls for discipline.

No breathless coverage about threats to democracy.

Just silence.

And Americans notice.

This is exactly the kind of double standard that helped elect President Trump in the first place. People are tired of being told that one set of rules applies to conservatives and another set applies to everyone else. They’re tired of watching the media twist itself into knots trying to protect Democrats while attacking Republicans for the same behavior.

When a Republican speaks out, it’s called dangerous.

When a Democrat does it, it’s ignored — or excused.

That’s not journalism. That’s activism.

The American people are not stupid, and they’re not blind. They can see when the media picks sides, and they can see when the truth gets buried because it doesn’t fit a political narrative.

What happened in 2023 showed Americans how the media operates.

What happened this week confirmed it.

And every time the press pretends these double standards don’t exist, they push more ordinary Americans away from trusting them.

That distrust didn’t appear overnight. It was earned — story by story, headline by headline, and moment by moment.

The truth is simple.

If shouting during a State of the Union speech is wrong, then it’s wrong no matter who does it.

But if the media only cares when a Republican does it, then Americans know exactly what’s going on.

And that growing awareness is one of the biggest reasons President Trump is back in the White House today.

Because Americans are done being told what to think — especially by people who refuse to tell the truth.
