Actor Shia LaBeouf was arrested Monday night in New Orleans after an alleged altercation during Mardi Gras celebrations in the city’s French Quarter.

Paramedics responded to the scene shortly after midnight to treat the actor before he was taken into custody, according to a TMZ report. Video published by the outlet shows the aftermath of the reported fight outside a bar.

In the footage, LaBeouf appears shirtless and is seen from behind with a large tattoo across his back as he engages in what appears to be a heated verbal exchange with another man. A subsequent clip shows him seated on the back of a non-emergency services vehicle while receiving medical attention.

An eyewitness told TMZ that bar staff escorted LaBeouf out of the establishment before the altercation occurred. According to the witness, the actor walked away from the bar and later returned to the front of the venue, where the confrontation unfolded. Paramedics treated him at the scene.

Court records cited by TMZ indicate that LaBeouf was later arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery.

A bartender who reportedly served LaBeouf last Thursday told the outlet, “He is terrorizing the city!”

LaBeouf, known for roles in films such as Fury, Honey Boy, and Padre Pio, has previously faced legal troubles. In 2017, he was arrested in Savannah, Georgia, on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct and was later required to complete court-mandated rehabilitation.

In early 2024, LaBeouf converted to Catholicism after being confirmed on New Year’s Eve at a Mass led by Capuchin Franciscan friars. The conversion followed months spent at a California friary while preparing for his role in the 2022 film Padre Pio.
