Rep. Lauren Boebert says that newly reviewed unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files contain references she described as “far worse than imagined,” including alleged coded language and discussions she characterized as deeply disturbing.

Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert said during a televised interview that her review of newly unsealed Jeffrey Epstein records revealed material she described as significantly darker than what has previously been made public.
Appearing on Newsmax, Boebert stated that after being granted access to documents following passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, she encountered references that she believes go beyond the established narrative of sex trafficking and abuse. In the interview, she suggested certain terms within the files may indicate coded language.
According to reporting that referenced her remarks about alleged coded terminology and references to “consumption,” Boebert raised questions about whether some language could imply criminal conduct beyond what has been formally documented, including speculation about possible elite cannibalism.
Speaking to host Rob Schmitt, Boebert said:
Boebert: This seems that it wasn’t only the trafficking of young girls, as the narrative suggests, but there are code words that suggest Jeffrey Epstein and his associates could maybe even be engaging in some consumption. Is that human consumption? Are there code words?
There’s a lot of talk of beef jerky. There’s a restaurant called The Cannibal, where the owner is listed in some of these documents. Now, that isn’t a restaurant that is claiming to serve human meat by any means, but some of this just seems like there are a lot of conspiracies that make you wonder.
Boebert acknowledged that the name of a restaurant alone does not constitute evidence of criminal conduct but argued that contextual references and what she described as clustering of certain terms warranted further scrutiny.
She continued:
Boebert: I saw more emails about torture. These coded conversations still have a very clear topic — that torture was big. It was a big driver for them. And these were sick people doing very, very sick things.
As you mentioned, there are many women who are involved in this. You have folks who were working directly for Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. And a lot of these women are the ones sending emails saying, “Here’s one, 10 years old, 11 years old, 9 years old.”
It’s just very disturbing to see the women who are involved in this.
A video clip of Boebert’s remarks circulated online, including a post shared by The SCIF on X, which can be viewed here.
Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna also addressed the matter during an appearance on The Benny Show, saying she had independently reviewed widely circulated Epstein-related emails.
“I looked directly at the emails that have been widely circulated about the ‘Age 11,’ and what I called the ‘Permission to Kill’ email,” Luna said during the interview.
“These were emails sent by women to Epstein — many of whom were victims who were allegedly groomed to later be traffickers themselves,” she added.
Luna further stated, “I saw the phrase ‘Jerky’ — whatever that is. It’s a code word, and it’s weird.”
A clip of Luna’s comments was posted to X by Benny Johnson and can be viewed here.
The lawmakers did not present documentary evidence publicly during their interviews to substantiate the interpretations they described. Both representatives indicated that additional transparency surrounding the unredacted files is necessary.
Jeffrey Epstein was previously convicted of sex offenses and died in federal custody in 2019. Investigations into his activities and associations have continued to generate public and political scrutiny. Lawmakers involved in reviewing newly disclosed materials have called for further examination of the records and clarification regarding their contents.
