Early viewership figures for Turning Point USA’s alternative Super Bowl halftime production sparked concern inside the NFL and advertising circles, with organizers and commentators citing record-setting livestream numbers and widespread redistribution across platforms.

Executives connected to the National Football League, along with advertisers and figures in the entertainment industry, are expressing concern over the unexpectedly large audience drawn by Turning Point USA’s All-American Super Bowl Halftime Show, according to multiple commentators involved in the broadcast and its promotion. The event, headlined by Kid Rock, was produced as an alternative to the NFL’s official Spanish-language halftime show featuring Bad Bunny.

Jack Posobiec, a bestselling author who hosted the Turning Point USA broadcast and dedicated the show to slain civil-rights leader Charlie Kirk, said preliminary viewership estimates already exceed 25 million and are expected to climb significantly. Speaking Monday on The Benny Show, Posobiec said the current figure reflects only the main livestreams.

“The 25 million number that has come out already, that’s just from the main YouTube and Rumble streams,” Posobiec said. “We’ve already got, just YouTube alone, Turning Point’s main stream, 6.17 million, and the one seven is significant because the previous No. 2 YouTube livestream of all time was 6.15 million.”

He added that total viewership could rise far higher as additional platforms and re-streams are tallied. “It boggles the mind to even think about those kind of numbers,” Posobiec said. “We might see 40 million, we might see 50 million, the sky is really the limit because we have so many partners. And then we haven’t even gotten to X and so many people were re-streaming it and putting it out there. So we are going to see a staggering number of views on this.” Clips of Posobiec discussing the numbers were shared publicly in a video post.

Posobiec said the response inside the entertainment industry has been tense. “The entertainment industry and advertisers are very, very worried about this,” he said, citing information relayed by Citizens Alliance CEO Cliff Maloney. According to Posobiec, Maloney spoke with a source inside NFL Network who said league personnel were “freaking out” over the size of the alternative audience.

Maloney echoed that claim in a separate post, writing that a contact on the NFL production team said producers and advertisers were “furious about the success” of the Turning Point USA broadcast and its impact on official halftime numbers.

Host Benny Johnson responded during the same program with sharp criticism of the NFL’s official halftime show, arguing that the league had alienated its core audience. “It ultimately shows that you’ve lost the culture war, that the NFL has decided to sabotage and betray their own fans,” Johnson said. He criticized the choice of performer and messaging, describing the broadcast as inaccessible to much of the audience.

Johnson also referenced fan-recorded footage from inside the stadium, which circulated widely online, showing large portions of the crowd standing still during the performance. One such clip was shared by Right Angle News Network in a video post.

Additional social media posts amplified claims that Kid Rock’s music surged in popularity following the alternative halftime show. In one widely shared post, Johnson asserted that Kid Rock overtook Bad Bunny for the top song globally despite what he described as heavy promotion of Bad Bunny by Apple.

President Donald Trump also weighed in publicly, sharply criticizing the NFL’s halftime show. “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, as reported by WorldNetDaily. In the same statement, Trump said the performance “makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”

“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World,” Trump continued. “This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country … .”

Trump had released his own Super Bowl-related video shortly before the official halftime show, according to a separate report. By midday Monday, the NFL halftime performance featuring Bad Bunny had accumulated nearly 23 million views on YouTube. The White House also shared a related post during the same period.

Other viral clips circulated online showing Bad Bunny appearing unsettled while leaving the event, including one video that claimed the artist later deleted his Instagram account.

As view counts continue to be updated across platforms, Turning Point USA organizers and commentators say the full scale of the audience for the alternative halftime show has yet to be finalized. However, early metrics and reactions have already triggered intense discussion within the NFL, advertising sector, and broader entertainment industry about audience preferences and the shifting media landscape surrounding marquee events like the Super Bowl.
