Veteran actress Jamie Lee Curtis launched a blistering attack on the Trump administration this week, labeling its actions an “abhorrence” and accusing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of being used as a deliberate distraction to divert public attention from the long-running controversy surrounding the Epstein files.

Speaking with Variety on Thursday, the Oscar-winning actress expressed deep frustration and disbelief at what she described as the administration’s treatment of Americans and vulnerable communities.

“Every day I think I’m not going to be shocked anymore, and then I’m shocked,” Curtis said. “It is inhuman, the way this administration is treating its citizens, its constituents, and people in need. It’s an abhorrence, what they’re doing.”

Curtis went on to single out ICE operations, claiming the agency’s heightened visibility is intentional. “The ICE situation is out of control,” the Freaky Friday star said, before asserting that immigration enforcement has become “simply a distraction so that we don’t pay attention to the Epstein files.” She added that her anger has reached a level she has never experienced before.

The actress made her remarks while attending the unveiling of Project Angel Food’s new Chuck Lorre Family Foundation Kitchen & Campus in Hollywood, an event focused on community service and providing meals to people living with serious illnesses.

Drawing parallels between the charitable work being done at the event and communities across the country, Curtis emphasized collective action.

“We are a community here today, the same way they are in Minnesota,” she said while addressing attendees from the podium. “And I feel like what they’re doing is what we’re doing.”

She concluded with a fiery call for unity, declaring that meaningful progress can only happen if people work together and openly defy the administration, punctuating her remarks with explicit language that drew both applause and criticism.

Curtis is the latest in a growing list of celebrities who have publicly voiced outrage over ICE operations and the Trump administration’s immigration policies in recent weeks.

The entertainment industry has seen a wave of high-profile reactions, many of them emotionally charged and highly controversial.

Last weekend, Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage drew attention after reciting a poem honoring 37-year-old ICE agitator Renee Good, who was fatally shot by a federal agent after allegedly striking him with her car. The tribute sparked heated debate online.

Music stars have also joined the chorus. Rapper Bad Bunny, who previously made headlines in October for refusing to stand during “God Bless America” at a New York Yankees game, helped amplify an “ICE Out” message echoed by multiple celebrities at the Grammy Awards.

During the ceremony, country artist Shaboozey declared in his acceptance speech that “immigrants built this country,” further fueling the conversation.

Singer Rosanne Cash took a more confrontational stance last week, urging fans who support the Trump administration to unfollow her on social media. She went on to call for ICE to be defunded and for its agents to face prosecution.

Meanwhile, actress Molly Ringwald described the Trump administration as “a fascist government,” warning that Americans who support the president’s immigration policies could one day be judged as collaborators when political power shifts back to the left.

Actor Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his role as Gus Fring on Breaking Bad, escalated the rhetoric even further by calling for a “revolution” to oppose ICE. In remarks that drew widespread backlash, Esposito suggested that such an uprising could result in the deaths of “50 million” people or more, before casually adding that “the rest of us would survive.”

Critics were quick to note that the actor, with an estimated net worth of $4 million, would likely remain insulated from the consequences of such chaos.

As celebrity criticism continues to intensify, the debate over ICE, immigration enforcement, and the Trump administration’s policies shows no signs of slowing—highlighting an ever-widening divide between Hollywood figures and conservative political leadership.
