Trump is scheduled to speak in Clive, Iowa, at the Horizon Events Center beginning at 3 p.m. local time, according to KCRG. The rally is expected to focus on issues including rising home values, declining gas prices, and broader economic conditions under the current administration.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the outlet that the president’s visit will extend beyond the rally itself, with plans to visit local businesses and meet with Iowa lawmakers during his time in the state.

Republican leaders from Iowa welcomed the visit and framed it as recognition of the state’s role in returning Trump to office. Sen. Chuck Grassley thanked the president for making the trip, saying, “In 2024, Iowans voted overwhelmingly to return President Trump to the White House to lower costs for families, to secure the border and to bring down crime. Since then, Republicans have been delivering on those promises.”

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, also praised the visit, saying she appreciated the opportunity for Trump to hear directly from constituents. “I appreciate the President taking the time to hear directly from Iowans,” she said. “I look forward to joining him and highlighting the work we’ve done to deliver the largest tax cuts in American history for working and middle-class families, while continuing our focus on lowering costs and strengthening the economy.”

Trump has indicated that agriculture will be a central part of his message while in Iowa. Speaking last week, he said his remarks would be directed “straight to the farmers,” referencing billions of dollars his administration made available in bridge payments to offset the impact of tariff policies, according to NPR.

“You know, the farmers like Trump, and I like the farmers,” the president said. “The farmers have been very special to me. Very successful.”

The Iowa rally comes as Republicans seek to maintain momentum ahead of the midterms, using the state as a platform to emphasize economic messaging, energy production, and support for agriculture as central pillars of the administration’s agenda.
