Iran’s Islamic Republic regime is grappling with severe internal challenges and mounting external pressures. Speculation about possible military strikes on Iran has intensified fears across the region, leading to significant disruptions in international air travel.

Flight Services Disrupted in the UAE and Beyond

Amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, several major airlines have suspended or rerouted flights to key destinations in the Middle East. According to reports from outlets including the Free Press Journal, Air France, KLM, and Lufthansa have halted services to Israel and major Gulf hubs, including those in the United Arab Emirates, due to security concerns. Flights to Tel Aviv have been particularly affected, with warnings of potential missile and drone activity. Disruptions have also been reported in Qatar. Early Thursday, Iran itself suspended domestic and international flight operations as a precautionary measure.

President Trump’s Statements about Armada in Middle East

President Donald Trump has addressed the situation, emphasizing a preference for avoiding conflict while signaling readiness to act if necessary. In recent remarks, he stated: “I’d rather not see anything happen, but we’re watching them very closely… We have an armada… heading in that direction, and maybe we won’t have to use it.” However, Trump made his stand clear stating, he is hoping there won’t be need for actions but signaled if needed, actions will be taken.

Khamenei gone underground

According to the New York Post, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has gone underground and is hiding out in a bunker out of fear. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, has reportedly gone into hiding in a bunker due to fears of potential US airstrikes. This comes as the USS Abraham Lincoln, a US aircraft carrier, is heading towards the Persian Gulf amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran.

Iran’s Consul General has denied these claims, stating that Khamenei is not hiding and is instead holding meetings via video conferencing.

Controversy Over Trump’s “Help Is on the Way” Pledge

President Trump’s earlier comment to Iranian protesters—that “help is on the way”—has generated significant controversy and frustration. Initially interpreted by some as a signal of imminent U.S. military support, the statement encouraged demonstrators amid a brutal government crackdown. However, the absence of follow-up military action has led to disappointment among protesters and criticism on social media, with some Iranian activists expressing feelings of betrayal.

The pledge has also drawn scrutiny in U.S. media, including right-leaning outlets. As Fox News reported: “President Donald Trump warned Iran and told protesters that ‘help is on its way,’ setting expectations of U.S. action. Days later, with no strikes carried out, the pause has become the central question in Washington.”

Trump has previously threatened severe consequences, including statements suggesting he would “wipe them off the face of the earth” if the regime continued its violent suppression of protests.

Iran’s Warnings of “All-Out War”

A senior Iranian official, speaking anonymously, warned on Friday that any attack would be regarded as “an all-out war against us.” The official noted the impending arrival of a U.S. aircraft carrier strike group and additional military assets in the Middle East, stating: “This military buildup—we hope it is not intended for real confrontation—but our military is ready for the worst-case scenario. This is why everything is on high alert in Iran.”
