US President Donald Trump launched the “Board of Peace”, the ceremony which is happening in Davos, Switzerland, at the World Economic Forum. Trump stated, the war is nearing end and now Hamas must disarm itself to end it fully or it will blow away.

Trump is hosting the event, which aims to launch his international “Board of Peace” initiative, focused on resolving global conflicts, starting with Gaza.

Addressing the event, Trump said, “things are really calming down”.

“Just one year ago the world was actually on fire, a lot of people didn’t know about it.”

Trump invited representatives from Bahrain and Morocco to sign the Board of Peace charter document —- followed by other board members signing. 

Trump mentions Gaza as the starting point for the Board of Peace, citing a recent peace deal involving Israeli hostage and Palestinian prisoner exchanges. 

He states the Gaza war is nearing its end, with only “little fires” remaining, and emphasizes Hamas must disarm, warning they’ll be “blown away” if they don’t.

About the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Trump said, “The one I thought was going to be an easy one has turned out to be probably the most difficult.”

The Board of Peace is an organization that is nominally purposed to “promote stability, restore dependable and lawful governance, and secure enduring peace in areas affected or threatened by conflict”. The Board was proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump in September 2025 and its establishment was announced by Trump on 15 January 2026.
