A special envoy appointed by President Donald Trump said the United States believes a deal involving Greenland is achievable, as Washington intensifies diplomatic engagement with both the Danish territory and Denmark itself.

Jeff Landry, Trump’s envoy to Greenland, said he plans to travel to the territory in March and expressed confidence that negotiations could produce an agreement once discussions advance. “I do believe that there’s a deal that should and will be made once this plays out,” Landry said in an interview with Fox News on Friday.

Landry’s comments came as a bipartisan delegation of U.S. lawmakers was preparing to meet with leaders from Greenland and Denmark, signaling a coordinated diplomatic push by Washington.

“The president is serious,” Landry said. “I think he’s laid the markers down. He’s told Denmark what he’s looking for, and now it’s a matter of having Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance make a deal.”

The remarks underscore the administration’s view that negotiations with Denmark over Greenland remain active and potentially resolvable, with senior U.S. officials expected to play a central role as talks continue.
