New year celebrations turned devastating for those who were celebrating the Swiss Alps bar on the New Year night.
The fire broke out around night 2 O’Clock on Thursday, and dozens of people are feared as dead due to the incident.
Around 100 people were injured due to the massive fire on the festival night.
The Crans-Montana resort is best known as an international ski and golf venue.
According to Valais Canton Police Commander Frederic Gisler : “Several tens of people were killed at the bar, Le Constellation.”
He said that work is underway to identify the victims and inform their families but it’s not possible given the exact numbers of deaths right now.
He also said the community has been left “devastated.”
Beatrice Pilloud, Valais Canton attorney general, told media that the exact cause of fire is yet to be known but experts have not yet been able to go inside the wreckage.
“At no moment is there a question of any kind of attack,” Pilloud said.
