Doha: Qatari cadres have continued their active presence in regional weightlifting federations, following the selection of Jassim Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Qatar Weightlifting Federation, as Chairman of the Development Committee in both the West Asian Weightlifting Federation and the Arab Weightlifting Federation. In parallel, Khalid Abdulaziz Nabina, Assistant Secretary-General of the Qatari Federation, was chosen as the Chairman of the Athletes’ Committee in the Arab Weightlifting Federation, for the electoral cycle extending from 2025 to 2029.
These selections came during the electoral meetings held in the capital, Doha, during December 2025, in a step that reflects the increasing confidence in Qatari competencies, and comes in appreciation of their administrative and technical expertise, and their role in supporting the development of the sport of weightlifting at the regional and international levels.
It is worth noting that Qatari cadres have an effective presence at the level of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), where Jassim Al Mansouri holds membership in the Innovation and Development Committee, while Khalid Nabina holds membership in the Governance Committee, for the cycle extending from 2025 to 2029.
This presence confirms the continuation of the approach adopted by the Qatar Weightlifting Federation in qualifying its cadres and enabling them to contribute to sports decision-making, and active participation in development and governance committees and athlete care, in a way that serves the future of the game and enhances its position in the region.
These positions come as an extension of a series of successes achieved by Qatari competencies in various continental and international federations, and consolidate the position of the State of Qatar as an active partner in developing the institutional sports work system.
