Authorities in Delaware have opened a death investigation after a woman connected to Jill Biden’s former marriage was found unresponsive in her home following a late-night police response to a reported domestic dispute.

Linda Stevenson, 64, the wife of Jill Biden’s ex-husband Bill Stevenson, was discovered unresponsive inside a residence in the Oak Hill neighborhood of New Castle late Sunday night. New Castle County Police said officers were dispatched to the home shortly after 11 p.m. on Dec. 28 in response to a domestic disturbance call.

According to local reporting from WDEL, responding officers found Stevenson in the living room and immediately attempted life-saving measures. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed that the case is being handled as a death investigation, with detectives assigned from the department’s Criminal Investigations Unit. Stevenson’s body has been transferred to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will determine the official cause and manner of death.
