Open spaces are not bound to any border or line of separation and division. It’s an independent area that takes action through the application of regulated policies that have been recently adopted. However, with the authority of the federal governments legislation in accordance to regulation and monitoring, that is influenced by management and long-term supervision, the acquisition of the rights to control and settle has been an on-going factor of concern in the past few months. That led to a coalition of strengthening the authority and connection between Law of the Land, Sea, and Airspace that are functioning independently.
Every political decision is a result of a threat that has been set against the law. Be it a threat based on Land, Sea, or Airspace. They all share a connectivity of the same kind of stability and security that is provided when needed. But now is the time of need and immediate response to an all-encompassing network of threats. With that, the need of a cooperation among all three sides are as important and imperative as the need for urgent actions and measures.
The United Nations and the International courts clarified that each of the three categories have its own rules and regulations that are needed to be applied equally when threats are present and immediate attacks are set to be in motion. However, recent political developments are likely to have major consequences on not only one, but all three bases of the aforesaid categories, and at the same. Which makes the protection approach a complicated task to enforce in a short time of urgency.
Controlling the land and enforcing troops is an easy task with its competitors, as it’s based on the standard political principle of the involvement of a military force against another military force. But the political calculation differs when the encounter is based on a supposed free space such as the land, sea, and airspace. Despite the formation of independent laws that created bold barriers and restrictions on where to go and how much power one has over a certain area of the three mentioned categories, if the barriers are not physically visible and solidified, breaching the law and the regulations tends to be a normal strategy due to the weak and lack of applicability from the International Courts and the signatory states.
The visibility of actual borderlines are the key factors in why political powers and leaders are seeking the fastest way forward to achieve their military objectives and goals. As it’s recently seen in multiple cases, wars are not being started through the use of one base, for that’s a long way to go towards the next target and point of attack. With that, the use of free areas and spaces are the most effective and fastest ways. In other words, it’s the attack on all three points simultaneously, which will buy more time to invade if its one of the objectives, and use the enforcement of threat.
The political strategy of the aforementioned is as follows. It starts with enforcing troops on lands that are near the borderlines or on a further territory where visibility is not an issue. The second goes with control of airspace and preventing the passage of any aircraft, be it a domestic commercial flight or a military aircraft on a mission. The space would be fully occupied and controlled by one party. Regardless of the laws that exist, putting the aftermath and consequences into action takes more time to apply in those spaces. And that leads to the third and final counterattack, which is through the use of the sea. Now national and international waters are important baselines that differ in theory and application when it comes to the maritime environment and law. But due to the fully controlled physical and air-based spaces, implying force through the sea is not as complicated as it might be. In fact, it’s the final route of attack and target that would be sealed under a short time.
The global community faces a demanding scenario of control through new routes that are in need of full national security first, and international protection second. As a result, a fundamental conjoint new phase of legislations are expected to make appearance to strengthen the protection mechanism of the functioning laws. The connectivity between all three principles would have a great impact on national and international forces, and even threats that might seek to be mild and none concerning. This is an international legal framework of protection that is being enforced and overlooked by the law through the courts, and the creation of a new legal system that allows a joint judicial process of protection would lead to a strong base of borderlines that will never be breached due to the special circumstances and consequences that would be imposed and applied by the courts.
Connectivity is always the solution for protection, and a solid foundation for such a scenario, is and will always go back to the strong base led by the authority of the legal courts.
